Grab-a-jab in Bracknell’s town centre

Whether you’ll be shopping or visiting Bracknell’s town centre this Friday (9 July) to Monday (12 July), you’ll be able to grab-a-jab on your travels and at your convenience.

A Covid-19 vaccination pop-up unit will be situated in Union Square (near to Primark) over the course of the four days, between the hours of 12pm and 7pm, with vaccinators at hand to vaccinate anyone over the age of 18, yet to receive their first vaccine.

No appointment is needed and no ID is required. Simply just turn up and provide your name and address.

Whilst the driving force to set up this pop-up clinic is to encourage the younger population in Bracknell Forest to get vaccinated, anyone over the aged of 18 who lives, works or studies in the borough will be eligible to use the walk-in service.

Please note that this service will not be providing second doses. Details for second dose appointments can be found towards the end of this release.

Jeremy Mellins, a Bracknell GP and clinical director for one of the local Primary Care Networks, said: “The Covid-19 vaccination programme across Bracknell Forest continues to drive forward at pace with a large percentage of residents over the age of 40 now being vaccinated. Many double jabbed which is great news.

“In addition, our focus is now to encourage younger people to get vaccinated, especially those aged 18-29, to help protect themselves, their family and friends.

“As a town and a country, the more people that are vaccinated, the greater our chances are of moving out of this pandemic in the safest possible way.”

Stuart Lines, Director of Public Health for East Berkshire, said: “We would like to thank everyone who has come forward for their vaccine so far.  The current data shows that the vaccine is significantly helping to reduce the number of people with COVID-19 becoming ill and requiring hospitalisation.  Having both doses of the vaccine is not only helping to protect individuals against becoming seriously ill from the virus, but also family and friends and those around them.  By working together to stop the spread, we are getting closer to safely returning to normal life.”
